Hey there, techies! Guess what? Well, I’ve discovered some “trick” not too long ago about a particular router. What I will share you today may help you, too! Today, we’ll tackle how you can change the default SSID (PLDTmyDSL) on a wifi router, particularly for the ZyXEL P-660HN-T1A model.
But is this important? Well no, it’s not that though. But if you are tired of seeing the regular PLDTmyDSL SSID (which is quite annoying for me), on your personal computer, laptop, or mobile phone, then changing it would be the best option. And that’s what we’re going to talk about today, folks! Also, you just need to follow 3 simple steps and you’re good to go. Let’s get into it, shall we?
First Step
Type http://192.168.1.1 into your address bar. Any browser such as Google, Mozilla, Internet Explorer, etc., will work. Press enter and log in using the default username and password. The default user and pass are commonly indicated on the back or bottom part of a router. If you can’t find it, you can simply ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the credentials.
Default Username: adminpldt
Default Password: 1234567890
Second Step
Located on the upper right side of the screen, which is beside the logout button, click “WIZARD” icon. After clicking the button, there will be a text saying: “Welcome to the ZyXEL Wizard Setup”. Now, click the “INTERNET/WIRELESS SETUP”. Then a message: “Connection Test in Process, please wait a moment.” will pop up. Now just wait for at least 10 seconds, then proceed to the third and final step.
Third Step
After some seconds of waiting, expect the “Internet configuration, Connection Test Successful”, to pop up. Then click yes to proceed. Now, click the “next” which is indicated below, and don’t forget to activate the wireless by ticking the check button.
Once done, change the default SSID. Any name you want is alright – it’s up to you! Just don’t mind the channel selection and you can also change the password to whatever you want it to be. That’s it, techies! You can now say goodbye to the old and annoying default SSID.
